Stewart Maxcy is an artist based in Flagler Beach, Florida, whose work primarily centers around our oceans and waterways.
Although his work has sold in galleries, gift shops, surf shops and other assorted businesses, he prefers to sell direct to his clients, based on their requests.
Old Surfboards Do Not Decompose
And So Remain, Filling Our Landfills
What makes Stewart's work truly unique is that he prefers to use, "Retired" surfboards as his canvas. Whether it's a board the client provides or one of the many Stewart can provide, all are custom painted and one of a kind. The client simply provides a list of ideas or elements they wish to include and the process begins.
Stewart feels strongly about the recycling of surfboards, knowing surfboard materials never decompose in our landfills. By using them to create art, each one, "Recycled", makes a positive environmental impact.
Stewart Has Painted Well Over 300 Boards
All Handpainted with Acrylics - No Sprays or Airbrush
Stewart also paints skimboards, skateboards, surfboard fins and a variety of interesting, "Canvasses".
